Josh Needle is currently President of Flatiron Property Group. At Flatiron, Josh directs the firm’s business lines which include: outsourced acquisition and asset management services, joint venture sponsorship and participation, brokerage operations, and direct principal investment through its affiliate InTrust Property Group. In this capacity, Mr. Needle has overseen the acquisition or equity structuring of nearly $3 billion of real estate development and value-add projects. It is in the intersection of analytical praxis and creative instinct that Josh thrives.
Josh’s multifamily experience runs deep. Prior to pursuing his entrepreneurial passion, Josh was a Senior Director and member of the Capital Markets Team at Cushman & Wakefield in Los Angeles. At Cushman he acted as a strategic partner to his clients directing them through hold/buy/sell decisions worth billions of dollars in value. Before Cushman & Wakefield, Josh worked at Buchanan Street Partners, where he was responsible for acquisitions and asset management of direct and joint venture equity and debt investments. He directly managed a portfolio of office, industrial, multifamily and mixed-use assets. Responsibilities included leasing and property management oversight, targeted renovation and development programs, and strategic portfolio optimization. Previous to Buchanan, Josh was with the Bascom Group, a private equity real estate investment firm and top 50 apartment owner, where he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, JV equity fundraising, and advised on numerous workouts and recapitalizations. Preceding Bascom, Josh served as a financial advisor to high net worth individuals and small businesses, and as management consultant to Fortune 500 companies.
Josh earned his MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at UCI where he received the first ever NAIOP SoCal Fellowship Award. He earned his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Colorado, Boulder and was selected to join Beta Gamma Sigma- an international honor society for business scholars. He holds a certification in Light Construction and Development Management (LCDM) and held multiple FINRA securities registrations. Josh is a Co-Founder and served as a Co-Chair of the UCI Real Estate Alumni Association (UCIREA), is an active member of the NAIOP SoCal Young Professionals Group (YPG), is a member of the ULI Orange County Young Leaders Group and was on the ULI Orange County/Inland Empire Housing Council. Josh is an avid snow and water sports enthusiast and currently resides with his wife, son and daughter in Costa Mesa, California
